Seminar- cum- Workshop on “Digital Payment Modes: Made Easy”
Global Institutes organised a Seminar- cum- Workshop on “Digital Payment Modes: Made Easy” to impart awareness on this very important initiative by Government of India under its Digital India Campaign. Indian Government has come up with a large number of schemes to motivate people to shift to Digital transactions in order to bring transparency and check the ills of excessive cash flow of currency. The workshop was conducted by two senior experts from banking sector, Mr. R.S Chatha Sr. Manager, Punjab National Bank and Mr. R.S Khera, Sr. Manager Punjab & Sind Bank. Mr. Chatha explained different digital modes available to people for making payments from one rupee to thousands of rupees. He discussed UPI apps, AEPS, USSD, Cards, E-Wallets etc in his lecture. Mr. R. S Khera dwelled on advantages of Digital Payments as well as future of this method. Dr. Maninder Singh emphasised the need to take safety measures while making digital payments. He observed that “We must not let the fraudsters steal our money”. We can check this if we are careful.
Earlier, the experts were welcomed by Vice-Chairman Dr. Akashdeep Singh and Director Dr. Rajesh Goel. The Vice Chairman observed that Prime Minister Narender Modi’s bold decision on demonetisation and subsequent emphasis on digital transactions will lead to far reaching positive changes in our society and put an end to traditional corrupt practices which have eaten the vitals of our social system. He advised the students to follow the new methods of digital payments diligently so that they do not suffer any monetary loss. Director Dr. Rajesh Goel thanked the experts for imparting useful knowledge to the students on the digital modes of payment. He was all praise for the experts for making the workshop very interesting through real life examples.
