The Tourism and Travel industry has the ability to absorb large number of people. The Travel and Tourism industry, along with the related sectors, contributing to it is expecting to grow in leaps and bounds in the coming years. For this reason, we are imparting Tourism educational training to the learners. There are millions of job vacancies in tourism sector. Modification of the learners for the industry is our main objective. This course has the advantage of industrial trips, Tours, Industrial internships, where the learners get to know the real and practical practices and procedures applied in airlines and tourism sectors.

NATIONAL TOURISM DAY CELEBRATED
National Tourism Day, Jan.25 is celebrated every year in India to increase public awareness of the significance of the tourism sector and raising global awareness of the value of tourism in terms of its social, political, economic, and cultural contributions.
The day was celebrated by the students and faculty members of the Department of Tourism and Travel on January 25, 2023 in the campus.
Ms Amolak, HOD and Mr Vikas Rana a faculty member, addressed the students and explained in detail the importance of tourism sector for the Indian Economy.
In an interaction with the students, they informed them that India is one of the top tourists Attractions for visitors from all around the globe on account of its natural beauty and rich heritage.
The Vice Chairman Dr Akashdeep Singh in his message advised the students to work hard as they have a very bright future in tourism sector.

Model Making Competition
Department of Travel and tourism has conducted Model Making activity on 18January2021 by using Zoom app. In these activity studentspresented models related to various famous tourist attractions and explained important points about them. Students participated enthusiastically and winners and participants both awarded with certificates.
GROUP DISCUSSION
The Group Discussion is an indicator of the confidence of a person as well as his/her ability to work in group. Students are seated in a semicircle, a topic is given and after about a minute or sothe group is asked to proceed. Often, aggressive and loud individuals may corner the discussion. There is usually a scramble to be the first one to speak.Dept of Hospitality & Tourism organizes Group Discussion among the Students as per scheduled Time Table weekly Activity.
An Educational Trip to Hyderabad
An educational tour to Hyderabad was conducted for the students to explore the rich heritage of the city .During the trip students visited, Salar Jung, Golconda Fort, Snow World and Ramoji Film City. The trip to Hyderabad was truly an enriching experience and enhanced the knowledge of the students.
World tourism day celebration
World tourism day was celebrated in which Students participated in various events and also show the culture of various states.
Excursion Trip
To explore the iconic city, an excursion trip on “Hop -on Hop -off ’’was organised. Students visited Partition Museum, Gobindgarh fort and military war memorial.
Heritage Walk
The Heritage Walk is a guided tour deep inside the narrow lanes and bye- lanes of the 400 years old city of Amritsar. To show the traditional town planning and architecture of Katras, Akharas, Bungas, Havelis and Hattis a heritage walk was conducted for BTTM Students along with state tour guide Mr. Gurjinder Singh Johal. This walk was an opportunity for the students to feel part of this beautiful, sacred, vibrating, Guru Di Nagari.
Head-Learning & Development, Taj Lands End, Mumbai motivated the students
Mr. Amit Suman, Head-Learning & Development, Taj Lands End, Mumbai interacted with students of Hotel Management and Airlines Tourism at Global institutes. He talked about industry leading processes of Taj and answered various queries of students.
Historical Visit To Gobindgarh Fort
A Historical trip was organized for ATHM Students at Gobindgarh The main objective behind this trip was to provide knowledge about the history and other attractions of Gobindgarh Fort. In this trip student covers main attraction of fort known as “Sher e Punjab” – In which they saw 7D show based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Then they visit “Toshakhana Coin Museum”- Having a replica of the Kohinoor as it was worn by the Maharaja. After that there was a great arrangement for refreshment for the students.

Mr. Arun Kumar Khanna Dy. Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India, Institute of Archaeology delivered a lecture on Heritage sites.
Tourism Quiz Competition
Tourism quiz competition was organized for the students to explore their knowledge .
Airport Visit
Industrial visit was organized at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar, on 25th April 2016 for ATHM 2nd and ATHM 4th Semester.

An Excursion trip was organized to F2 raceway Ludhiana .At F2 raceway students performed various adventurous activities like Go-Karting, Jeep racing, Zorb Ball, Paint Ball, Carnival games, Sumo wrestling and various swings.

Ad – Mad Show organized by Management Department
An AD-MAD SHOW was organized by Global Institute of Management on 28th September, 2015. The show was organized in order to meet the competition through creative & innovative advertisements. All the management students including MBA, B.Com, ATHM, HMCT participated enthusiastically in the show.

The communication skill training is provided to all our students in our ultra-modern communication skills and multi media lab for this purpose. Effective communication skills are a critical element in student career and personal lives.

Our departmental library has a huge collection of books, magazines of tourism industry, aviation sector and hospitality industry.

The learners are being trained for reception process, group handling, tourist greeting and welcoming in the front office lab.

Hospitality sector is one the main sub sector of the tourism industry. To maintain cleanliness, we are giving training to our students about the housekeeping.
