‘Basant Fest’ was celebrated on 23rd February 2024 in the campus to welcome the onset of spring after the cold winters.
The festival is observed annually by the Institute and dressed in their best and traditional yellow attires the Management, Faculty, Students and Staff of the Institute participated in the celebrations with joyous abandon and enjoyed the revelry at the gala function with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The festival was declared open by the Chairman Dr. B.S. Chandi and Vice Chairman Dr Akashdeep Singh Chandi.
The teams of boys and girl students from different departments took part in ‘Tug of War’, competition with great enthusiasm.
The Winning team was given a cash price of Rs.5000/- and the team coming Second was awarded Rs.3000/-.
The ‘Matka Phod’ competition saw participation by different teams who vied for the honours.
The teams coming first and second were awarded cash prizes of Rs.3000/- and Rs.2000/- respectively.
In ‘Kite Flying’ competition, the students participated in flying the kites high in the sky and tried to outdo each other by terminating the kite of their adversary.
The winner and runner up claimed cash prizes of Rs.1000/- and Rs.500/- each.

The Winners and Runners up of Tug of War, Matka Phod and Kite flying competitions were given the cash prizes and certificates by Chairman Dr. B.S. Chandi and Vice Chairman Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman observed that the Institute celebrates all the traditional festivals at its campus in which staff and students coming from different regions of the country and abroad participate whole heartedly. Such celebrations create a sense of bonding among them and help them learn about the cultural and social diversity in the country.
All those present during the festival were served Refreshments including ‘Basanti Halwa’.
Campus Director Dr. M.S. Saini, Prof. B.D. Sharma Director (Admissions), Dr. Maninder Singh, Prof. D.S. Bhambra, , Prof. Amit Hasija, Prof. Charanjit Singh, Mr. Dilraj Singh Sports Incharge, Members of the Faculty Staff and a large number of students were present during the celebrations.
