COLLEGE PISCICULTURE UNIT DEVELOPED
A UNIT OF Pisciculture is started with the release of fish seed in the college pond. The fish seed of three species namely Rohu, Catla and Gold fish is used to develop fish culture. The fish farming in the college will encourage the farmers of this area to develop their fish farms. The fishes are reproduced by the process of induced breeding and these species will attains maturity in due course. These fishes usually attacks on harmful phytoplankton (algal blooms) of ponds and the larvae of the mosquitoes. In this way these species are eco-friendly to the environment. This will also helps the students in attaining practical knowledge in the subject of fishery. Dr. B.S.
