“Global Football League Season-I 2024” started with the Inauguration of the Tournament by Vice Chairman Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi on 2nd March 2024.
Global Football League Season-I 2024” started with the Inauguration of the Tournament by Vice Chairman Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi on 2nd March 2024 in the college football ground.
He released the tournament plaque in the sky signifying the sky high aspirations of the Globalians.
A total number 07-Teams from different departments participated in the league.
The inaugural match was played between the teams of Deptt. of Management and Polytechnic in which the Management team defeated their opponents by 3-1margin.
The second match of the Football League played between Department of Computer Applications (MCA/BCA) and B.Tech.CSE teams ended with the CSE team defeating their opponents 1-0.
The third encounter between Department of Pharmacy and School of Legal Studies ended in victory of Pharmacy as the Law team conceded a walkover without playing their match.
The first Semi-final was played between the reigning GFL Champion B.Tech. Civil and Pharmacy department. The intensely played semifinal between both the teams match was resulted in B. Tech. Civil team winning the match 2-1.
The Second Semi-final between Department of Management and B.Tech.CSE proved to be an entertaining and engrossing duel in which the Management team overpowered their opponents to win by 2-0 margin and qualified to challenge the B. Tech. Civil team in the final.
The Final played between the reigning GFL champions B.Tech. Civil and Department of Management turned out to be a one sided affair with B. Tech. Civil prevailing upon their opponents to win the finals by a margin of 3-0 Goals and retain the GFL Season-1 2024 Championship Trophy.
Dr. B.S. Chandi Chairman Global Group of Institutes alongwith Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi, Vice Chairman, awarded the Certificates, Medals and Trophy to the runner up and winning teams.
Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi appreciated the sportsmanship and fair play displayed by the competing teams during the matches.
Dr. M.S. Saini Campus Director, Mr. Dilraj Singh Sports Incharge, Prof. Vikas Rana, HODs and Faculty members were also present on this occasion.
